SEDcollabs with WVSU Batch ALTORIA’29

A day of learning, stories, and discovery unfolded as West Visayas State University – Batch ALTIORA ’29 brought “Language Upon the Isle: A Literacy Journey through Language and History” to the young learners of Barangay Sta. Monica, Blumetritt, Iloilo City on August 29, 2026.

Designed to foster literacy, language appreciation, and historical awareness, the community extension project featured interactive activities that introduced children to the evolution of Philippine languages and culture while making learning fun and engaging.

We were glad to support this meaningful initiative by providing school supplies and learning materials for the participating children. ✏️📖 We hope these simple contributions become useful companions in their continued journey of learning, both inside and outside the classroom.

We commend Batch ALTIORA ’29, led by Kriss Anne Therese Tejida, Chairperson and Project Head, for bringing their advocacy beyond the university and into the community. We also extend our appreciation to the Barangay Officials of Sta. Monica, headed by Hon. Rodney Taz N. Espinosa, Barangay Captain, for welcoming and supporting this meaningful initiative.

Through SEDcollabs, we continue to welcome opportunities to work alongside student groups, organizations, and institutions whose initiatives create meaningful impact in the community.
