Project Description
This project is being conducted in an effort to address the holistic development needs of Ilonggo children, especially those serviced by various Day Care Centers in the locality, while, at the same time, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for them. Program activities include larong pinoy, story-telling, feeding, and donation of school supplies. Recently, TAYA was brought to evacuation centers as a psychosocial intervention utilizing play therapy as a medium. The project complements the effort to promote Iloilo City as a child-friendly community.
Project Milestones
TAYA was conducted in a total of 9 barangays from January 2023 to June 2024. Through the Tayâ program, more than 400 Ilonggo children have rediscovered the rich traditions of the Filipino culture. This initiative provided them with a meaningful outlet to navigate challenging emotions and situations, nurturing emotional regulation and resilience. For displaced children, particularly those affected by fire incidents, Tayâ served as a sanctuary, offering comfort and a sense of community during times of adversity. It has also allowed our office to reconnect with the essence of childhood, gaining invaluable insights and rediscovering the world through the eyes of children.
Future Plans
This office hopes to continue the implementation of his program in more barangays and to engage the involvement of more stakeholders.
