Project Description
“Sa Lugar Lang” aims to engage various stakeholders in the transport sector in determining appropriate attitudes, behaviors and responsibilities that Ilonggos must manifest when on the road. This initiative involves workshop-dialogues with various sectors, through which the tenets of road courtesy and discipline are surfaced. This project complements the effort of the City towards road awareness and safety.
Project Milestones
Sa Lugar Lang initiative took place in several schools including Iloilo City National High School, Iloilo National High School, La Paz National High School, and Mandurriao National High School, drawing attendance from students, teachers, and even traffic enforcers. With a total of 200 participants involved, this project provided our office a platform to gather valuable suggestions, particularly in shaping local legislation aimed at enhancing the transportation sector’s environment. Notably, ideas generated during workshop dialogues have already been put into action by student councils across their respective schools.
Future Plans
Gauging from the response of participants to the program, this Office hopes to continue its implementation, encouraging participation from other stakeholders in the transportation industry.
