It was a great honor and privilege to serve as the ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ช๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง during the Baccalaureate and Hooding Ceremony of the Iloilo Doctorsโ College โ College of Dentistry.

In sharing a few reflections with the graduates, I drew lessons from the very profession they have chosen to pursue. Just as we brush our teeth daily, we must also find time to renew and take care of ourselves, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. Just as teeth require proper alignment, success in life demands patience, discipline, and hard work, for there are no shortcuts to excellence. And just as dental decay can be treated and restored, life’s setbacks and failures should never define us; they are opportunities to rebuild, learn, and move forward.

More importantly, I encouraged our future dentists to use their talents and expertise in service of others, especially those who are poor, disadvantaged, and marginalized. Beyond building successful careers, may they help create healthier communities and brighter smiles for generations to come.
